Dry and detangle
Completely dry hair, brushed right through so the ends fall in one direction. Never damp.

Smooth if curly
Curls hide their ends inside the pattern. Straighten or smooth the section so the tips can reach the blades.

Section and clip
Take the sections you'd take with a flat iron — thin enough to see through.

Glide, then clean
One slow pass from mid-length to tip. Empty the chamber and brush the blades when you're done.

Will it cut my length?
Not in any meaningful way. A fixed spacer holds the blades a set distance from the guide, so a pass takes the exposed tips rather than inches off the section. If you want length removed, that's a haircut.
How does it find split ends?
It doesn't detect anything. Split and broken strands don't lie flat with the rest of a section, so the guide plate separates them out and the blades trim what's lifted. Smooth hair passes through.
Does it work on curly hair?
Yes, with prep. Smooth or straighten the section first, otherwise the trimmer can't reach the ends hidden inside the curl and the result looks uneven.
Can I use it on wet hair?
No. Wet hair clumps and stretches, which gives an uneven cut. Dry hair only, always.
How often should I use it?
Most people land on every four to six weeks. New splits keep forming, so treat it as upkeep — and avoid passing over the same section repeatedly in one sitting.
Is it safe to use on myself?
The blades sit behind a guide, so there's no open edge against your hand. It's still a cutting tool: use it on the ends of the hair only, keep it away from your scalp, face, brows and skin, and keep it out of reach of children.
Does it replace a salon trim?
No, and we wouldn't sell it that way. Shape, layers and clean lines are your stylist's work. This keeps your ends in order between those appointments.
Will my hair grow faster?
No. Nothing done at the ends changes growth at the scalp. Tidy ends simply break less, so you hold onto more of the length you grow.
How do I clean it?
